Sullivan Fly Rods Website - The Difference Between Art and Production
I first met Tim Sullivan when he was pouring beer at Katabatic Brewing here in Livingston. We chatted beer, life, fishing, and he eventually brought up his idea for a custom fly rods business. Tim and his family are all die-hard, life-long anglers and building rods easily fit as an extension of the passion.
Fast forward several months, and we were sitting down discussing what he really wanted out of a website. My web design premise is always to provide excellent value, SEO optimized websites that index well and load quickly, and have a clear and easy-to-use structure to them. While Sullivan Fly Rods offers pre-built fly rods for sale, the real selling point is their custom options. Customers can fine tune their rod with every component - blank color, reel seats, agate guides, thread wraps, etc. You can truly make a fly rod your very own. The challenge for me was to showcase their work in an easy to understand and easy to use way, without making things overly complicated. Since Sullivan Fly Rods is a small shop, with only Tim and his Angus building rods, we opted to drive customers to call or email with custom rod inquiries instead of offering an online ordering portal.
The ensuing site is clean, fast loading, and optimized for the client experience. A flexible framework is in place to make the website scalable as the business grows in the coming years. Tim has some big things in the works!
Tim and Angus were a true pleasure to work with on the website, and still are as I am running their social media. You can’t ask for any better people to work with, talk to, and spend time with. Go check them out at SullivanFlyRods.com
